New York City based fashion hairstylist.

One of Jacob Rozenberg’s earliest memories is sitting cross-legged on his sisters’ beds blasting the Spice Girls and twisting their braids into Geri Halliwell-inspired space buns. “Styling hair,” he says, “is part of my DNA.”

Born in Vancouver and diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of six, Jacob found his calling when he first picked up a pair of scissors. “I spent my entire childhood cutting hair in my bedroom,” he says. “Friends would come over for playdates and I’d end up doing their highlights with a Miss Clairol streaking cap.”

After losing his mother to ovarian cancer in high school, Jacob decided to dedicate his life to the pursuit of truth and beauty. Hair was the channel. By age 17, he was working in a salon; by 20, he’d entered hair competitions all over the world and won national titles. “I’ve always intuitively known how to work with hair, “ he says. “My goal is to make all women look like the most vibrant versions of their best selves.”

Currently based in New York, Jacob brings a high-fashion sensibility to everything he does—whether on set, preparing for the Met Gala, or styling private clients. After spending four years assisting celebrity hairstyling Harry Josh, he recently branched off on his own. His clients include Irina Shayk, Karlie Kloss, and Candice Swanepoel. Jacob’s work includes covers for Vogue Greece (shot by Rowan Papier) and Vogue Russia (shot by Paola Kudacki), editorials with Greg Swales and Sebastian Kim, and campaigns for Adidas, Oscar de la Renta, and Tropic of C. He also works with Guido Palau’s Fashion Week team.

Jacob specializes in both long and short hair for editorials, advertising, and red carpet events. He takes private appointments at Hawthorne two days a week, and can also be booked for weddings and other big events. Mellow, flexible, and collaborative, Jacob’s favorite part of the creative process is bringing a client’s vision to life. “Hair is its own shared language,” he says. “It’s an expression. It’s love, style, and soul.”
